Where it is useful

Typical ways buyers put a security microphone to work:

• Reception desks, counters and meeting areas where audio helps the record
• Shops and offices that already use a Hikvision recorder
• Warehouse and gate-house monitoring
• Adding sound to an existing camera system

Before you buy: what to check

Used equipment is easy to get right if you check a few things first:

• Whether your camera or recorder has an audio input and what it expects
• Power requirement and cable length
• Exact model (confirm from the unit label)
• Check the local rules on recording audio before you install it

Not sure about compatibility? Send us your set-up and we will tell you what we can confirm.
