About this item
This listing covers 24 units of the Fibre Media Converters (DBC, Binatone and techNXT). The stock was used at corporate events and is now surplus from our own event inventory, so you are buying from the team that deployed it.
Media converters change between copper Ethernet and fibre so two different cable types can share one link.
Where it is useful
Typical ways buyers put a media converter to work:
- Extending Ethernet beyond the 100 m copper limit
- Connecting a fibre line to a copper-only switch or router
- Linking CCTV or outdoor cameras over fibre
- ISP hand-offs that arrive on fibre
Before you buy: what to check
Used equipment is easy to get right if you check a few things first:
- Speed (10/100 or Gigabit) and fibre type
- Single or dual fibre
- Matching units at both ends of the link
Not sure about compatibility? Send us your set-up and we will tell you what we can confirm.
